How did your background in oenology and your travels across France inspire you to explore the potential of the country's forests and local flora in creating sustainable and effective skincare products?

Thanks to my studies in oenology, I gained intimate knowledge of the richness of French terroirs and a deep understanding of the pronounced impact of climate change. I felt compelled to emphasize local biodiversity. Given that forests cover a third of the French territory, they became an obvious choice. For a more sustainable future, it's pivotal that we first look for efficient and healthy solutions within our own ecosystem. That's precisely our mission with LES BOIS: to highlight the potential of our immediate surroundings.

Les Bois products are renowned for their pure and natural compositions, devoid of allergens and colorants. How do you uphold the gold standard of clean beauty, and how does it influence the overall effectiveness of your products?

To strike the ideal balance between efficacy and "clean beauty", initiating an upstream strategy in product research and development is crucial. We exclusively develop our products in France based on our stringent specifications. We steer clear of white label formulations to ensure flawless traceability of every ingredient. 

Our commitment is to formulate "maximalist" solutions rich in active components. To this end, we integrate natural extracts like Landes Pine, Birch, and Red Vine with proven active ingredients such as peptides, collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, and EUK 134.

Compromising on either product performance or purity isn't an option for us.

Les Bois products are a harmonious blend of ancient traditions and modern dermatological advancements. How do you balance traditional French forest-derived ingredients with modern scientific breakthroughs to forge highly potent skincare solutions?

Historically, humans have identified beneficial extracts from local flora for their skin and overall well-being. At LES BOIS, our formulations draw from these age-old insights while also integrating modern scientific findings. We supplement these natural extracts with molecules renowned for their cosmetic benefits, creating products that synergistically elevate skincare results.


In a market overflowing with skincare brands, how have you differentiated Les Bois to carve a distinct brand identity? How do you articulate your brand narrative and values to consumers?

Our brand identity evolved organically. We prioritize natural materials, forest-inspired botanical colors, and a blend of raw yet sophisticated textures, reminiscent of our product aromas. We aim to exemplify that local sourcing and naturalness can coexist with precision and elegance. The values we cherish - closeness, efficacy, and transparency - are reflected at every phase, from conception to market introduction. Our ambition is to offer consumers products that are wholly beneficial for both the environment and their well-being, fulfilling their desires for effectiveness, sensory delight, and aesthetics. Our Instagram offers a vivid portrayal of our brand essence, emphasizing our products' innate qualities through evocative, minimalist visuals.

Les Bois advocates a minimalist skincare regimen. How do you ensure that despite a reduced number of steps, the products offer optimal skin benefits?

The skincare landscape has shifted dramatically, transitioning from a mere 3-4 product routine to the elaborate 10-step Korean regimen within a few years. However, statistics reveal that 83% of individuals spend under 3 minutes on skincare nightly. Hence, we aimed to simplify these routines by eliminating non-essential steps. For instance, our cleansing products maintain the skin's microbiome and pH, negating the need for post-cleansing rebalancing. We also formulate our serums to maximize the concentration of synergistic active ingredients, excluding components like retinol that could potentially cause adverse reactions. We're genuinely delighted with our formulations, having realized this streamlined yet effective objective.


Les Bois products pride themselves on being gender-inclusive and versatile. Could you shed light on how you've formulated them to cater to diverse skin types and concerns?

As touched upon earlier, our products respect the skin's natural barrier, avoiding any irritation or disruption. A strong, balanced skin barrier often prevents numerous skin concerns. We meticulously select ingredients that bolster skin health, steering clear of potentially sensitizing components. In 2024, we'll unveil products targeting specific issues, notably those related to skin aging. As of now, our products have shown commendable results across all skin categories, even the most sensitive ones.

The rise of travel-friendly skincare is undeniable. How have you tailored Les Bois products to meet the requirements of regular travelers, ensuring convenience without diluting the formula's potency?

My entrepreneurial journey commenced in 2013, during which I frequently traveled, often alongside my business partner. Early in our journey, we envisioned a "shared toiletry kit" to simplify travel, avoiding reliance on hotel-provided essentials. This aspiration led to the conception of the Traveler's Range.


With just three versatile products, two individuals can effortlessly travel for two weeks:

1. Le Pain du Voyageur - A combined cleansing and nourishing bar suitable for both body and hair.

2. Le Soin du Voyageur - A moisturizing, antioxidant serum with a matte finish.

3. La Cure du Voyageur - A supplement to fortify the immune system and ensure restful sleep

These select products encapsulate all the essentials, making travel convenient and efficient.


Peering into the future, what should we anticipate from Les Bois in terms of product innovation and development? Are there upcoming ventures or projects you can share with us?

In the forthcoming year, we're excited to introduce skincare solutions specifically targeting aging and sun protection. Our philosophy revolves around fostering healthy skin over time, emphasizing gentle cleansing and naturally fortifying the skin barrier.
