● If you could describe the essence of French Farmacie in one sentence, what would it be?

Consciously crafted on the foundation of science and inspired by the French philosophy of pared-down skin minimalism.

● Tricia, what personal experiences inspired the inception of French Farmacie?

Struggling with infertility and an up-and-down relationship with my skin had me questioning everything I was putting in and on my body. This led to researching ingredients and eliminating things that didn’t serve me, including a complicated skincare routine. As my interest grew, I leaned into my background in healthcare and partnered with a Harvard-trained chemist to develop science-driven formulations. Along my journey, a trip to Indonesia left a lasting impression, where front-line communities are grappling with the ocean pollution crisis — a result of the global dependence on single-use plastic. This became the catalyst for a deeper appreciation that skin health and the health of the world around us are profoundly interconnected. Inspired by a healthier vision for people and the Planet, French Farmacie was born — consciously crafted skincare combining results-driven ingredients with a genuine dedication to having a softer environmental impact.

● How has your background in healthcare influenced the ethos of French Farmacie?

Finding the right partner to develop our formulations was a top priority. Through my background, I was fortunate enough to meet a Harvard chemist, who leverages high-quality ingredients and specializes in science-driven formulations.

● What inspired the formulation of your flagship product, and how does it embody the essence of French Farmacie?

Sérum Radiant, an award-winning “face oil meets serum,” was the first product we developed and was born from my own need for a multitasking product. I traveled extensively in my corporate career and wanted a multi-purpose product that would moisturize, nourish, and give a beautiful glow, while simultaneously combatting UV damage, diminishing dark spots, and promoting skin cell regeneration.

● Could you elaborate on how French Farmacie’s duo addresses specific skin concerns like aging, hydration, or acne?

Our hero products are the foundation of a restorative and healthy skincare routine, with potent formulas rich in detoxifying and free-radical fighting antioxidants, regenerating and brightening vitamins, and nourishing and smoothing omega fatty acids. Élixir Exfoliant’s unique, luxurious oil-based formula delivers nourishment and moisture, and protects the skin barrier, while natural AHAs and fruit enzymes work their magic to exfoliate and brighten. Sérum Radiant contains plant-powered ingredients rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to nourish, repair and regenerate. It’s formulated to stimulate collagen production, balance, and even skin tone, protect your skin barrier, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and benefit environmentally stressed-out skin.

● How do French Farmacie products integrate into an existing skincare routine?

Élixir Exfoliant and Sérum Radiant are versatile and easily integrated into one’s routine. Élixir Exfoliant is a 10-30 minute exfoliating treatment mask that goes on like your favorite face oil to shed dull skin cells and even tone and texture after gently wiping clean with warm water and the French Farmacie muslin cloth (included with every order of Élixir Exfoliant). You can use it 1-3 times a week on alternate days and graduate to using it as overnight treatment a few times a week for incredible, luminous results. Sérum Radiant is a multitasking “face oil meets serum” formula to nourish, soften, and boost your skin’s healthy glow. You can apply Sérum Radiant as the last step of your skincare routine on top of moisturizer to lock in moisture and glow morning and/or evening. You can also mix 1-2 drops with your favorite foundation or tinted moisturizer for that au naturel glow.

● Can you elaborate on the process of selecting unique ingredients for your products?

We meticulously researched and tested ingredients from reputable suppliers who value quality, transparency, sustainability, and fair working conditions. We've adopted the cosmetic ingredient standards set forth by the European Union and EcoCert. We lean into conscious, thoughtful beauty and consider human and environmental health in everything we do.

● How do you balance scientific rigor with holistic approaches in your product formulations?

Our science-backed formulas, developed in partnership with a Harvard-trained chemist, deliver high-performance results while honoring the French philosophy of skin minimalism and our commitment to the environment.

● Tricia, how does French Farmacie's product aesthetic reflect its brand philosophy?

French Farmacie pays homage to the French and their simple "skin-first" routines. It’s the secret to the French sense of je ne sais quoi — a philosophy that favors pared-down minimalism and classic simplicity. Our beautifully crafted skincare line combines nature’s best ingredients with a genuine dedication to the health of our planet, all while continuing to pay homage to the ease of French beauty. Our namesake is a nod to France’s highly curated pharmacies and their commitment to high-quality products and a community-driven approach.

● Are there any plans for expanding the product line to include new types of skincare products or formulations?

We’re inspired by the French and their pared-down, minimalist skincare routines. French Farmacie is centered around reducing complicated steps and unnecessary ingredients to find balance, ease, and a natural glow. We launched with two products and will thoughtfully grow the line in keeping with this approach and ethos. We’re actively working on new products and can’t wait to share them with the world.

● Can you share any customer stories or testimonials that have particularly resonated with you?

I love reading customer and fan testimonials as it means so much when someone shares their love of French Farmacie with others. One particularly exciting testimonial was when I found out that Lucy Boynton, a British-American actress, mentioned that she loves Élixir Exfoliant and pulled it out of her beauty bag for a Harper’s Bazaar UK video segment. It was such a fun and unexpected moment for French Farmacie and I still can’t believe it happened!

● What is French Farmacie’s approach to international markets and global expansion?

We are just as intentional with selecting retail partners as we are with every other partner we work with. Our retail partnerships in the United States are growing, including Moda Operandi. We’re so excited to be sold in Europe through Muse & Heroine, in Canada at Etiket, and through Olivine in Mexico. We are continuing to evaluate other regions in the world to determine the best timing for a launch in those markets.

● What does a typical day look like for you as the CEO of French Farmacie?

Every day tends to look different as I wear many hats running a start-up small business. I try not to look at my phone first thing in the morning, so I get up and go for a walk outdoors, followed by a Pilates workout. Moving my body helps ground me and sets the tone for the day. I also make sure to make time for my skincare ritual and then it’s a day filled with emails, meetings, strategic planning, accounting, logistics, customer service, and everything else that needs to get done in a given day. Visiting retail partners and meeting customers in person is definitely a highlight and love it when my day includes that!

● Finally, can you share a personal beauty ritual or product from French Farmacie that holds special significance to you?

I love taking the opportunity to slow down and come back to myself with the French Farmacie ritual. On the nights I use Élixir Exfoliant, I read or listen to a podcast for 30 minutes before removing the exfoliating mask with the French Farmacie cotton muslin cloth. When I’m feeling the need for a little extra self-care, I’ll take a bath while Élixir Exfoliant is working its magic and follow with a few drops of Sérum Radiant. I use Sérum Radiant every morning and night on slightly damp skin and love how nourished and glowy my skin looks. It’s a ritual I look forward to every day and can’t live without.
